Family Pic

Family picture - taken @ Eden Subang Parade.
Did a bandana wrap for mummy. It comes from my creativity. Nice, huh? =)
Not as nice as those pro did it, but at least it's better than the "thief-look-alike" black hat that mummy bought!

In case you want to know, it is at 1U New Wing.
Merry Christmas everybody!

Adorable niece

My niece got bigger now - 13 months.
Isn't she adorable?

Training...

We were getting ready to head to office before proceeding to Putrajaya for training.
Then we noticed there are a whole lot of pink stuff in the house and decided to grab a picture.

Karen acting stupid

Our hotel room is fantastic!
The view is awesome and I particularly lurveeeeeeeee the pillow.
If you feel like having a peace and quiet place to hang out but do not want to drive too far, Putrajaya Shangri-La is the place to be.

Someone stole my tyre!

Some b*st*rd freaking stole my tyre! *argh*
I am 1 tyre short now.
Anyone knows where I can get a cheap 13-inch tyre and a second-hand rim?
Here's how my rim looks like:

This is my KPI?

Was talking to my boss earlier about KPIs and some other work related matters.
The following would be my KPI:

If you happen to be one of my client, I'm sure you know what to do now.

I am Finally Sickness-Free!

Been sick for the past 3 weeks and have not been updating.
I am finally back and very much alive & kicking!

From my last post, I've mentioned that mummy was admitted to the hospital because of low white blood cells. She's also back at home and getting better now.
It was a side effect of chemo and she had high blood pressure.
So, somehow it had caused her white blood cells to develop rather slower than usual.
Anyways, she's all better now.
Mummy went to shave her head last week.
She decided not to go through the "hair loss" experience.
Initially she was kind of sad about it.
But thank God, she has accepted the fact and is still going through her usual everyday life now.
Her hat is rather hideous though (my point of view). Will be doing some "hat shopping" session this weekend for mummy.

God bless,
Karen M.

Admitted to hospital again

Mummy is admitted to hospital yet again tonight.
Her white blood cell is extremely LOW.
Most of you would have known that my mum just had her surgery and is undergoing chemotheraphy.
I am worried and yet could not do anything about it.
I am not allowed to visit her because I am not feeling well and her body immune system is weak at this point of time.
Being around people with sickness will endanger mummy's health.
All I can do is just to sit here, and PRAY for the best.

It's a blessing

Mummy had her first chemo session last Monday.
It was tough for her.
She was not feeling well the whole of last week - coughing like mad
She came back from chemo feeling exhausted.

It's tough seeing her suffer but there's nothing much I can do apart from being there for her.
However, I guess it's also a blessing because I can see and feel that mom & dad loved each other very much.
Let's pray that mom can go through this.

Love,
Karen M.

Broke the record

Had my very first & last (hopefully) car accident last Thursday on my way to KL for a meeting.
I had to say that it was totally my fault.
My mind was not with me throughout the journey.
It was too occupied with Zenith's media plan.
The office mobile phone started ringing and I looked down to grab it.
The car in front made a sudden stop along Jln Kuching and "boooom"!
My mind was totally blanked.

The funniest part is that - I locked myself out of the car!
Yes.... I felt rather stupid about that... REALLY!
I left my bag, mobile and I left the car running when I get down.
Once I close the door behind me, I see the lock went down and voila!
I am locked outside and clueless what to do next. (totally aware that my car lock is a bit cuckoo... but didn't bother to get it fixed... lessons learnt though)

Luckily, I met a rather nice "tor cheh lou" - initial intention is to get something out of it.
But seeing that it was not a major accident and yet he is willing to help me out.
Calling for help and wait for my dad to bring my the spare key.
Must be GOD sent!
I was stucked in the middle of Jln Kuching and the traffic is really heavy that time.
It was sunny too!
He helped to divert the traffic just so we did not get knocked down. *phew*
Even gave me an umbrella!
Few minutes before my dad reached, another GOD sent!
Mr.MPAJ passed by and saw us in the middle of the road - asked what was wrong and came over to help.

Throughout the whole incident, I met rather nasty people and most importantly - We Do Have Nice People In Malaysia!
My love to the "tor cheh lou - sorry don't know your name" and Mr.MPAJ!

Sudoku Freak!

Mom is doing really well with her "homework".
Fantastic job indeed.
Managed to get 3 sets correct within a day - just after 30 minutes learning session the day before.
I'm really proud of her!

Keep up the good work, mom! *muah*
Will teach you new stuff next time. =P

Sudoku

It's great to be spending time with mom.
She bought Sudoku book from MPH yesterday and was trying to fill those numbers up.
She thought she was great at it... and when I check her "work"... found out it was all wrong!
Muahahahahaaa!

It was tough teaching mom.
But we had fun.
I gave her homework last night.
She needs to fill up 3 more tables by the time I get home from work today.
Let's see if she's getting better at it tonight. =P

Mom is feeling better

Hi all,

A lot of you have been calling and sms-ing asking about my mom's condition.
Just to update - she was admitted to the hospital again after being discharged for 1 day.
Reason being her wound was infected.
No worries. She's now back at home resting.
Her test result should be out next week - 27th Sept.
Doctor will then decide whether she needs to go through chemo or not.

Thanks for all the love peeps...

Love,

Karen M.

It's like sleeping on a boat

It felt like I was sleeping on a boat this morning when I am trying not to wake up so early for work (it's 7 in the morning just in case any of my bosses are reading). I thought I was feeling dizzy until I heard my dad talking to my mom on the phone, saying "Indonesia yau dei jan ah" ("Indonesia earthquake again" in Cantonese). Then I quickly clean myself up and leave the house.

I hope it's not as major as the previous Tsunami.
Praying for everyone.

Shireen turned 30!

Happy birthday, sis!
You are no longer in the twenties...
Hope you had a wonderful 20s and enjoy your 30s!

Wishing you wonderful years ahead!
*muah muah*

Mom had surgery

Mommy was diagnosed with breast cancer 2 weeks ago.
It's malignant, stage 2.
Eventhough dad did not show that he is worried, but I can see it from his action.
He couldn't sleep at night and he will drive to the hospital at 3am just to accompany mom.
I saw him facing the TV one day, but his mind was somewhere else.

Mom had the surgery yesterday morning and was in the operation theater for 6 hours.
Surgery went well.
She seems to be alright but I hope she is not mentally disturbed by it.
I know she is strong. Mom, you can do it! Gambatte!

A word or two...

Mom's lovely Tom Yam soup...
It's definitely much more delicious than the one I had nearby my place...

Baby Annabelle had to unbutton her pants to give some space to her rounded tummy... hehe!

Darren & I having ice cream after a long walk with my lovely sister, Shireen and her hubby, Alvin....

Overturned lorry

Snapped this from 21st floor before heading to office.

This overturned lorry caused a massive jam on both side of the Kesas highway.
You might not have noticed, the lorry is NOT overturned on the highway... it's actually off the highway but our dear Malaysian drivers paid too much attention off the highway... thus causing a massive jam... I'm totally speechless...............

Another perfume to my collection

Honestly speaking, I don't intend to have a perfume collection.
I guess my beloved brother, Steve ran out of idea on what to get for me on every other occasions.
Thus, another perfume that is!

However, I loved it!
Thanks, bro... Love you!!

25th Anniversary...

The big day falls on Monday. Thus, the BoB gang decided to celebrate a day earlier.
No big parties, no dozens of people coming up to you and wish you "Happy Birthday", but I still feel great having the "best-est" and the people that I care most with me that night.
Having 5 wonderful guys cracking jokes all night long, making my day brighter that it used to be on any other Sundays - the feeling is awesome! What more could a girl ask for?
BoBs - I am one happy girl knowing and having you on my journey of life.
I LOVE YOU ALL !

Lion dances

This is the best year ever!
Managed to catch 5 lion dances' action...!!
Woooohoooooo~~~!!!
I just loveeeeeeeeeeee them (their ass to be exact)
They are absolutely adorable... round ass with cute little tail...

Here are the pictures...
Forgive me with the horrible quality of pictures taken (no money to buy new mobile phone yet)

Taken @ 1U Shopping Centre

Taken from my office. The Sunrise Management had a CNY celebration at the fountain area.
It's awesome!!

1st day of Chinese New Year

The usual visiting starts on 1st day of CNY, with some sort of gossiping, mah jong and gambling session. This is the best time ever to take / sweep money out of the older generation - provided that you are good with what you are playing. Else, you'll be going home with tears in your eyes and an empty pocket.

Our family and 2 of our dearest relatives decided to head for dinner - on Steve (my bro)'s tab. *lol*
After an hour of searching, we ended up in Starhill Gallery - Shook!

Mom & Dad - waiting for food to serve whilst having a blast with their bro & sis-in-law

Starters - gossip served with mandarin oranges *lol*

The superstar - ME!

A MUST HAVE during CNY
The absolutely yummylicious Salmon Yee Sang @ RM68!
(loads of Salmon and it's not expensive!!!)

Sweet & sour chicken

Superbly huge and amazingly tasty - Belacan Prawn
(ohhh laaa laaa)

2 slices of beef in brown sauce - no comment on this, coz I did not taste it

Fishy fried with garlic

Vegetables!
(no description... cause i'm bad with vegetables' name... =P)

Fried rice - absolutely delicious!! Best fried rice ever!!

My pathetic looking scallop with asparagus is ABSOLUTELY YUMMYLICIOUS!!
(cannot remember what it's called... was too busy snapping pictures... and i'm left with the above)

Lastly, green tea ice cream with red bean.
Ice cream is nice, but the red bean combination is a little weird.

Final bill only come up to RM900++ for 10 persons... Worth it!

Ladies Period Caution

Came across this article...
Any doctors out there that can verify this?
---------------------------

A well known Taiwanese medical professor specialise in cancer research basedin a Japanese university did a survey on 30,000 pre cancer patients.
She found these patients are very choosy in their food, wash their hair during their period and carry heavy object and drink cold drinks.
This will course the incomplete of ovulation and the remaining menses will turn into toxic and the imbalance of hormone will lead to ovary and breastcancer. (meaning we should just stay home and do nothing for that 5 days of menstrual?)
During the research she found the method of prevention to these cancer.

The secrets are;
One must change their lifestyle and eating habits.
Do not wash our hair while having period, do not wash your hair just for the cooling effect and contraction of ovary.
Excessive bleeding must be investigated by a gynae.
No cold drinks.
If you feel drowsy, breast expansion and constipation, these are the earlysymptom of ovary or breast cancer. (isn't breast expansion normal during period?)

To prevent use:
Black sugar
Chinese lotus (leng ngau)
Carrot and Barley
Boil to soup and drink. (Urrhh... Eeeww...?)
This is the best prevention.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Why is today Valentine's Day?
Why isn't Valentine's Day tomorrow?
Anyone ever think about it?
I do...

Tried to search for an answer...
But all I get is 5 pages long history of love...
Which of course I have no freaking patience to read @ 5:30pm in the office after a long hectic day...
It will be good if someone who loves to read to summarize the reason behind 14th February - the official Valentine's Day...

These are the 2 sentences that I managed to capture out of that 5 pages...
Hahahaha!

---------

The holiday is actually named after two men, both Christian martyrs named Valentine.
The day became associated with romantic love in the High Middle Ages, when the tradition of courtly love flourished.

near death experience

Oh yeah... a near death experience... and I am not joking...
A shock of my life!

Was on my way home as usual... going at 70km/hr on Seremban Highway...
All of a sudden... the car which is approximately 40metres in front of mine... made a full-on-the-dot stop.
I had to step full on my break... car skidded... tires screeched...
and THANK GOD... managed to break on time... by 2 cm away from the front car's bumper...
*phew*

Till now, I have no freaking idea why the car made an emergency stop... all he can say is "Sorry".
Be extra careful on the road is a lot better than sorry...

--- Drive safely everyone! Be considerate & be patient on the road. Think of your loved ones ---

Sign of aging

Your phone used to ring non-stop in the weekends,
Asking you to go out for a drink, movie or just to meet up;
When your phone ring in the weekends now,
You wish that you didn't hear that.

You used to get all hyped up when you are called for activities during weekends,
Now you get all lazy even when you are called for lunch;
Though you are hungry and searching for food at that point of time,
You would rather eat "Maggi Mee" (instant noodle) at home.

You used to browse your phone,
Searching for people to call for events;
Now all you want is just a cosy couch
and the tv remote on your hand.

Is that a sign of aging?
If Yes, pls save me!

Another year for BoB...

Everlasting Friendship

A friend is someone we turn to
when our spirits need a lift.
A friend is someone we treasure
for our friendship is a gift.
A friend is someone who fills our lives
with beauty, joy and grace.
And makes the whole world we live in
a better and happier place.

I love you guys!
*lots of hugs and kisses*

Good buy - Skinlite Nose Pore Cleansing Strips

I bought Skinlite Nose Pore Cleansing Strips and Skinlite Cucumber Pads 2 weeks ago from Sasa.
I have no idea about the brand Skinlite, but that was the only available nose pore strips that removes white and black heads on that day.
Surprisingly, it works perfectly fine!
You guys (guys and girls, i mean) must try!
6 strips in a box, worth RM8.90

However, I am not sure whether the Cucumber pads work or not though.
So erm... try it if you have the money... cause it's approximately RM23 for 24 pads.

I'm back!

Hi everyone!
I am finally back after 2 weeks of disappearance.

After 2 hours in the cinema watching a not-so-nice-close-to-silly-show of Sinking Japan with Darren and his cousins, we proceeded to Bidara for supper.
We got there right on time to witness our hardworking MPSJ/MPPJ/DBKL in-action.

I really felt that it's unfair to only act on the Chinese and Indian minority in Malaysia.
Why is it that they only take action on indian mamaks or chinese coffee shops?
What about those Malay mamaks/stalls by the side of the road? They even made it look as if that part of the road belongs to them - with shelter and toilets (really dirty one though).
For instance, the whole stretch of malay stalls @ SS13 - right opposite Sports Planet.
Why are they still there doing business every night?
Why didn't the MPSJ/MPPJ/DBKL take action against them?

I don't get it.

Stacking up chairs

Stacked up chairs and tables ready to get loaded into the lorry.

The F1 lorry.
(hahaha!)

Officers doing their thing - calculating numbers with the shop owner.
(Not gonna reveal anything here, but $$$ is everywhere. Hehe!)
