Ladies Period Caution

Came across this article...
Any doctors out there that can verify this?
---------------------------

A well known Taiwanese medical professor specialise in cancer research basedin a Japanese university did a survey on 30,000 pre cancer patients.
She found these patients are very choosy in their food, wash their hair during their period and carry heavy object and drink cold drinks.
This will course the incomplete of ovulation and the remaining menses will turn into toxic and the imbalance of hormone will lead to ovary and breastcancer. (meaning we should just stay home and do nothing for that 5 days of menstrual?)
During the research she found the method of prevention to these cancer.

The secrets are;
One must change their lifestyle and eating habits.
Do not wash our hair while having period, do not wash your hair just for the cooling effect and contraction of ovary.
Excessive bleeding must be investigated by a gynae.
No cold drinks.
If you feel drowsy, breast expansion and constipation, these are the earlysymptom of ovary or breast cancer. (isn't breast expansion normal during period?)

To prevent use:
Black sugar
Chinese lotus (leng ngau)
Carrot and Barley
Boil to soup and drink. (Urrhh... Eeeww...?)
This is the best prevention.

Karen,

Thank you for raising these questions. I agree that lifestyle and eating habits are extremely important in the prevention of cancer, and maintaining health in general. I found your comment about cold drinks very interesting. I have not seen anything in the medical literature, but my personal experience as a resident makes me want to look further. During that time, I delivered alot of babies to Hmong women who had recently come to the U.S. These women drank nothing but warm water for 6 weeks postpartum, and apppeared to recover more rapidly than our American patients!

I have not heard anything about washing hair during menstrual periods.

I have researched the effect of seaweed on possibly reducing the risk of breast cancer. Japanese women have a significantly lower risk of breast cancer than American women and consume alot more seaweed. This is used in miso soup, stews, as a thickening agent, and as a snack. It is felt that seaweed exerts its effect by lowering estrogen levels.

Women who consume seaweed have less frequent periods, and also have significantly less menstrual pain.
